The Dallas Baptist University Women’s Golf Team earned the top spot in the first Golfstat Top 25, released on Wednesday. The rankings factor in head-to-head competition and season scoring. The Patriots have the second-lowest adjusted scoring average at 73.73.
DBU has two victories already this fall, including the UIndy Invitational, which included four top-10 schools and six schools in the top-25. The Patriots were also victorious at the NCCAA Central Regional and are coming off a second-place finish at the Dixie State Invitational. DBU also has three individuals in the top-25: No. 9 Sarah Kim, No. 15 Hanna Harrison and No. 18 Ann Parmerter.
Senior Sarah Kim has been a crucial leader for the squad, leading the team in scoring average at 73, which ranks 13th in the country. Kim carded a three-under final round to help DBU claim the UIndy Invitational, and she shot a two-under 70 in the second round of the Dixie State Invitational to solidify a second-place finish. Kim has finished in the top-10 at all three events this fall.
Newcomer Hanna Harrison is second on the team and 16th in the nation with a scoring average of 73.17. Ann Parmerter, the reigning WGCA Division II Co-Freshman of the Year, was named the Heartland Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week after a fourth-place finish at the UIndy Invitational. Parmerter, along with Harrison, have also all finished in the top 10 at all three tournaments so far.
The Patriots look to build on their success next week when they host the DBU Patriot Classic at The Golf Club of Dallas on October 10 and 11.
