DBU to Host Homecoming 2012

Dallas, TX – Dallas Baptist University will hold Homecoming festivities from November 16-17, 2012, on the University campus.

The weekend will begin on November 16, with the Homecoming Parade and Red Rally at 4:30 p.m. on The Quad. Later that evening at 6:00 p.m., DBU will hold the annual Alumni Homecoming Banquet. During the banquet, the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award will be presented to Ron Simmons, Texas State Representative-elect. Additionally, Dr. Sylvia Artmann, retired DBU professor, will be presented with the 2012 Honorary Alumna Award.

Immediately following the banquet, the DBU Homecoming Extravaganza will commence at 8:00 p.m., in the Burg Center. At 9:30 p.m., the DBU Women’s Auxiliary Board will host a Homecoming Reception in the Ebby Halliday Center.

On Saturday, November 17, Homecoming Registration will be held in the Office for External Affairs in the Mahler Student Center. Guided tours will leave the Mahler at 2:00 p.m., for individuals interested in seeing the newest buildings on the beautiful DBU campus.

Additionally, the annual Patriot Tailgate Party will be held in the parking lot in front of the Chapel at 4:30 p.m. Food, games, and music will be enjoyed in preparation for the Homecoming Basketball Game at 7:00 p.m. in the Burg Center where the Patriots take on the Wayland Baptist Pioneers.

The crowning of the 2012 Homecoming King and Queen will be during halftime, and celebrations will continue immediately after the game with the Alumni After Party and Student Life’s Bonfire Bash at the DBU Southwest Ponds.
