DBU Patriot Bass Team Takes 25th at FLW Tournament on Lake Sam Rayburn

The Patriot Bass Team traveled to Lake Sam Rayburn on Saturday to compete in the second event of the FLW National Guard College Fishing Southern Conference Event of the spring.  The Patriots struggled to catch a limit but managed to net two keeper-fish for a total weight of 3lbs 11oz – good enough for a 25th place finish out of the 40 team field.

The Patriot Bass Team, comprised of Junior Trey Bledsoe and Freshman Jacob Sepeda, struggled to net a keeper-fish early, but took a different direction in the afternoon to net a couple of keepers.  “It was tough out there, our strategy dwindled out quickly and we weren’t able to find the fish we needed,” stated Bledsoe, a Christian Studies major from Arlington, Texas.

The Patriots fell six pounds short of a top-five finish and an exemption in to the FLW Southern Conference Regional Championship this summer.  The Patriot Bass Team will have two more opportunities to claim a top-five finish in order to secure a berth to their first-ever FLW Regional Championship.

The Patriots will be back in action March 9-10 as they compete in the College B.A.S.S. Super Regional Championship on Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Alabama.
