DBU Men’s Soccer Selected to Finish Sixth in Pre-Season Poll

Entering their first season of intercollegiate play since 2005, the Dallas Baptist University Men’s Soccer team has been selected to finish sixth in the Heartland Conference, according to the preseason poll completed by the conference head coaches and sports information directors.

Texas A&M International received nine of the 10 possible first-place votes and is favored to earn their third consecutive conference title. St. Edward’s received one first-place vote, coming in at second in the poll, followed by Newman University in third. Texas-Permian Basin and St. Mary’s precede Dallas Baptist in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

The Patriots and first-year Head Coach Chris Crawford kickoff the 2012 season, September 1, at LeTourneau University. They will then host West Texas A&M for the home opener, September 4 at 3 p.m.
