DBU Men’s Soccer Drops Road Match to Rogers State, 3-2

DBUPatriots.com – The Dallas Baptist University Men’s Soccer team lost to Rogers State, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at Solider Field in Claremore, Oklahoma. Jake Simpson scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season just 29 seconds into the first extra time period to give the Hillcats the win.

The Patriots jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind goals by Riley Alvey andBrooks Friedman in the sixth and eighth minutes, respectively. Billy Burford set up each of the goals.

Chris Sowder cut the DBU lead in half in the 82nd minute after heading in a throw in from Matt Price. Kevin Kwarteng scored the equalizer seven minutes later, with just under two minutes remaining in the match to send the game into overtime.

– The Patriots were outshot 16-2 in the second half.
– With his goal in the loss, Riley Alvey is just four points away from 50 career points.
– In just his second start, Billy Burford‘s first assist marked the first point of his collegiate career.
