David Weldon Tindle December 6, 1930 – May 6, 2018

David Weldon Tindle passed away May 6, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born Dec 6, 1930 to Ira and Elizabeth Tindle in Dallas, TX.

He was a graduate of Crozier Technical High School where he excelled in ROTC. He served in the Texas Air National Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War. Afterwards, he joined Smith Co. Real Estate as a broker and eventually bought the company. He also served in the Dallas Police Reserves where he remained active for 30 years. He retired from real estate in 1991. He continued his service in the Police Reserves and retired in 1993 as the Deputy Commander. He was a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and also volunteered at Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Dallas Masonic Lodge No. 760, Mike Thomas Lodge No. 1314, Dallas York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies, and Hella Temple Shrine.

David was an avid fisherman and hunter. Over his long life he rode horses, flew airplanes, became a scuba diver, pioneered water skiing in Texas, became an expert marksman, and befriended people from all walks of life.

David was preceded in death by his parents Ira Tindle and Elizabeth Terry, his first wife, the former Betty Joan Brown, and his sister Fay Smith.

He is survived by his second wife, the former Sharon Kent, with whom he enjoyed over 40 years of marriage; his children, David Ira Tindle and Ikumi, Terri Ashmore and Rodney; 3 grandsons, Rodney Ashmore III and Katy, Richard Ashmore and Kalyn, Randall Ashmore and Shannon; two great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of lifelong friends. 

Visitation with the family is from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Services are 10:30 am, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel 

Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX
