On Saturday, April 7th, a team representing the Dallas Baptist University Patriot Bass Fishing Team placed 23rd out of 140 teams on Lake Ray Roberts for the second tournament of the new Texas Team Trail tournament series.

The team consisted of DBU Bass Team Special Advisor and Coach Scott Darragh, and student-angler Trent Newman, who managed to cash in $700 in winnings for their 23rd place finish.

On tournament morning, Trent horsed in a beautiful seven pound class fish within the first 30 minutes of the tournament that set the tone for the remainder of the day.  Darragh and Newman were one fish short of filling their five fish limit but were still able to weigh in an impressive creel of 14.92 lbs.

“We were honored to fish in the Texas Team Trail tournament and had a great day,” shared Darragh.  “I would like to thank Cabela’s and the Texas Team Trail staff for making this tournament possible for us anglers.”

The Patriot Bass Fishing Team will be back in action this weekend on the Ouachita River for the University of Louisiana-Monroe collegiate fishing tournament.

The Patriot Bass Fishing Team would like to thank all of their sponsors:
