Cynthia Jean (Cox) Dement May 12, 1955 – February 1, 2018

Cynthia Jean (Cox) DeMent was born May 12, 1955 to Malcolm D. Cox and Juanita (Pickett) Cox.

She grew up helping with her parents’ grocery store and loving her time with her fellow church choir members. Nearly thirty-three years later she gave birth to her daughter and they were best friends until the end.

She cherished teaching young minds and gave her all to her work and coworkers at the Tower Club. Cindy loved her Wish Kids and the volunteer work she did for Make A Wish. She spent nearly half her life as a proud Keeno Lady and became a faithful fan, alongside her daughter, of the Dallas Stars.

The Lord called Cindy home February 1, 2018. She has begun her new adventure and is reunited with her mother, father, family and friends. Her memory lives on in her daughter, Jennifer, her husband, Chuck, cousins David Eastman and Lanita Sherburn, her fur babies, Tobey and Sophie, her grand-dogs, Sadie and Piper, and many friends and coworkers.

Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and fun. She challenges her friends and family to continue these values in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Make A Wish North Texas in Cindy’s honor.

A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday. February, 7, 2018 at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
