Application deadline: July 29, 2011

The Duncanville City Council is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering their service on one of the City’s boards or commission.

To be eligible to serve, one must be a resident, qualified voter of the City of Duncanville, and not delinquent in the payment of ad valorem taxes or in the payment of fines to the City.

According to City Secretary Dara Crabtree, vacancies will be reviewed and filled during the summer months for the following boards: Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Park and Recreation Advisory Board, Library Advisory Board, Sign Control Board, Duncanville Community and Economic Development Corporation, Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board, and Certified Retirement Community Oversight Committee. She also noted that at this time there are no vacancies on the Tri-City Animal Shelter Board; however, some of the boards may have more than one vacancy.

“Applications will be accepted through July 29, 2011. Following the application deadline, the City Council will conduct a brief interview with each applicant. Appointments are then made in August,” she added.

Anyone interested in serving is encouraged to forward a completed application to Dara Crabtree, City Secretary, P.O. Box 380280, Duncanville, Texas 75138-0280. An application form can be downloaded from the City website here or obtained by contacting Ms. Crabtree at (972) 780-5017.
