Council Seeks Citizens to Serve on City Boards and Commissions

The Duncanville City Council is currently accepting applications from citizens  interested in volunteering their service on one of the City’s boards or  commissions. To be eligible to serve, one must be a resident and qualified  voter of the City of Duncanville.

There are currently vacancies for most boards and commissions,  including the following:

  • Planning & Zoning Commission
  • Board of Adjustments
  • Park & Recreation Advisory Board
  • Duncanville Community & Economic Development Corporation
  • Keep Duncanville Beautiful Board
  • Duncanville Community Multicultural Commission
  • Retirement Community Oversight Committee

Additional opportunities may be available on the Library Advisory Board,  Sign Control Board and the Tri-City Animal Shelter Board.

“Applications will be accepted throughout June and early July,” says Lisa  Palomba, City Secretary at the City of Duncanville. “Following the application  deadline, the City Council typically conducts a brief interview with each  applicant. Appointments are then made in August.”
