Cliff brings over twenty plus years of governing experience to the Council. Cliff has served the City of Duncanville in the roles of Duncanville City Councilman and Mayor. In addition Cliff has served as Chairman of the Board at Parkland Hospital. Cliff has hands on experience to resolve issues similar to those currently facing the City of Duncanville. These issues exist primarily due to failure by the current City Council to properly utilize its professional staff to manage the day-to-day operations of the City to the detriment of the City of Duncanville and its citizens. Cliff believes the failure to utilize a professionally trained economic development staff has killed the momentum once enjoyed by the City of Duncanville and its citizens in a growing commercial tax base. The Council’s decisions to assume the role of the Economic Development Corporation Board has adversely affected the future of Duncanville and will ultimately result in higher taxes for its citizens. One of Cliff’s primary concerns is the amount of vacant retail space and the lack of a plan to return the vacant space to productive entities to offer needed services to Duncanville’s citizens and to provide additional sales tax revenue to ensure the quality of service the citizens of Duncanville deserve.

Cliff’s forty plus years of business will assist the City in the areas of short and long-term planning to maximize the use of City assets for the benefit of its citizens. One of Cliff’s visions is to establish an aggressive strategic partnership with the South Dallas University of North Texas to develop a support mechanism for companies that support the healthcare allied services.

The City’s governing body must portray a positive and professional image to ensure attraction to outside business communities as the City is rich with opportunities to provide local jobs.
