City of Duncanville Fourth of July Celebration

City of Duncanville – The city of Duncanville invites you, your family and friends to its annual Independence Day Celebration! Admission is FREE and open to the public, though wristbands will be required for entry into the evening activities.

The celebration begins at 9 am with a parade sponsored by the Duncanville Lions Club with the theme “Liberty and 100 Years of Lionism.”

Events for the evening include food, fun and fireworks at Armstrong Park where you will enjoy LIVE music, delicious food from local vendors, bounce houses for the kids and the return of Duncanville’s traditional Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza! The evening theme is “Hats off to America,” and it is encouraged you wear your patriotic hat the whole day.

Parade

WHEN
Tuesday, July 4, 2017, from 9 am to 10 am

WHERE
The parade route will start at Reed Middle School and travel west on Wheatland turning north on Main Street to downtown Duncanville.

ROAD CLOSURES
Various closures will affect the Wheatland and Main areas beginning at 7 am.

PARADE ENTRIES
To participate in the parade, submit a completed application to: Duncanville Lions Club, Parade Entry, PO Box 381055, Duncanville, Texas 75138 or in person at one of the following locations:

  • Chamber of Commerce, 300 East Wheatland Road
  • Red Bird Bowling Lanes, 1114 South Main

Food, Fun & Fireworks

WHEN
Tuesday, July 4, 2017 Gates open at 6 pm and the fireworks show at 9:30 pm

WHERE
Armstrong Park, 100 James Collins Boulevard

ADMISSION
Wristbands will be required for entrance to the evening events. Wristbands (limit of five) will be available starting Monday, June 12 at the Duncanville Recreation Center (201 James Collins Boulevard). Must be 18 or older to pick up wristbands, and if quantities remain, wristbands will be available at the event.

SAFETY
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All bags and coolers will be subject to search upon entry. The following items will not be permitted inside the park:

  • alcohol
  • glass containers
  • tents

ACCESSIBILITY
ADA-accessible parking will be located in the parking lot west of City Hall (203 East Wheatland Road).

PARK CLOSURE
Armstrong Park will be closed to the public in advance of the event, starting at 11:30 pm on July 3. Normal park hours will resume following the event.

SHUTTLE SERVICE
Due to various street closures and limited parking, the City of Duncanville will offer a free shuttle service to and from designated remote parking locations before, during and after the evening festivities. Two shuttle routes will be available:

  • A North route will pick up attendees from the Duncanville High School parking lot (900 West Camp Wisdom Road) and drop off at Efurd Properties (202 South Santa Fe Trail)
  • A South route will pick up attendees from the Costco parking lot (250 West Highway 67) and drop off at the former Duncanville ISD Administration building (802 South Main Street).
