Most Original Table Design was Health Art Consultants

The World Tour of Tables event held recently at Methodist Charlton Medical Center featured beautifully designed table settings, or tablescapes; inspiring stories by guest speakers; prize drawings; and an opportunity to shop with local vendors. The host for the event sponsored by the Methodist Charlton Auxiliary was NBC 5 Emmy Award–winning sports director and anchor Scott Murray. All proceeds from the sponsorship of tables will benefit the Methodist Charlton Heart and Vascular Institute.

Award winners were as follows:

  • Best Use of Theme: President’s Table, designed by Krystal Dennison, visual manager for Dillard’s
  • Most Original Table Design: Health Art Consultants, designed by Kimberly Gabrysch and Kim May
  • Most Colorful: DeSoto Nursing and Rehabilitation/Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation, designed by Donna Campbell and Charlotte Hill
  • Most Extravagant: Grace Presbyterian Village, designed by Rhonda Williams and Holly Slater

Guest speakers shared their personal stories of triumph at the event. Gale Sliger, a 60-year resident of Duncanville and former owner of Gale Sliger Productions told her story of being a 30-year breast cancer survivor and surviving heart problems. The Rev. Jerry Hull, pastor of children’s ministries at Faith Bible Church in DeSoto, shared his experience as Methodist Charlton’s first open heart surgery patient.

Serving as judges for the event were Chef David Wilson of David’s Seafood Grill and Catering; Margaret Ryder, owner of Fluert Floral Design; and costume designer Winn Morton, who has worked for Broadway and Ringling Brothers, and has been the man behind all of the Texas Rose Festival costume designs for almost twenty five years.
