“Celebrate Duncanville” Award Recipients

This past Saturday the Mayor David Green and the City of Duncanville, and the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce celebrated 2011 and presented awards to community leaders and businesses.

After Mayor Green presented the State of the City address, he presented the Mayor’s Award to The Cake Guys, Monte Anderson of Options Real Estate, and Pankaj Lad of Best Western Plus.

During his acceptance speech Chad Fitzgerald of The Cake Guys encouraged those in attendance to invest in the students of Duncanville, just as they would invest in their businesses.

During Monte Anderson’s speech he admitted that he is sometimes viewed as controversial. But he used a quote from Abraham Lincoln to encourage those that might be wary of him. “I don’t like that man. I must get to know him better.”

During the Chamber Awards the following businesses received awards:

  • Newcomer of the Year Award Recipient – Bonnie Romero Espree of GRS

The final awards of the evening were presented to the 2011 Woman and Man of the Year, Dotti Pennebaker and Rick Jaynes.
