David Balyeat tallied a pair of goals and Chuck Schober earned seven saves as the Dallas Baptist Men’s Soccer Team cruised to a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Christian University, Thursday night. The rain-soaked win is the Patriots (2-5-0) first since the opening shutout of LeTourneau University.

The first goal of the contest came at the 15:44 mark, an unassisted score from Balyeat. It was quiet for nearly 40 minutes before the sophomore struck again, this time on a penalty kick. Leevi Schwartz added an insurance score in the 71st minute, assisted by Landon Lacy.

Freshman Schober (2-3-0) was solid in goal, turning away all seven of Oklahoma Christian’s shots on target. All totaled, DBU took 20 shots, six on target, with the Eagles (4-3-0) taking 12 shots.

OC Goalkeeper Tim Spencer had three saves in moving to 3-3-0. Brandon Little Axe turned in the top offensive effort for the home club, taking four shots, three of the on goal.

Thursday’s game was the first of four consecutive road contests for the DBU men. They will next travel to Newman University, Saturday, for a Heartland Conference matchup at 2:30 p.m.
