Author Phil Bildner Visits Acton Elementary

Off the page and into the hallways of Acton Elementary, children’s author Phil Bildner visited the school on May 1. He wrote the award-nominated Texas bluebonnet book The Hallelujah Flight.

Bildner spoke to students about how long the writing process can take, and how important it is to go back and revise your work in order to make it better.  He also held a meet and greet book signing session and ate lunch with Acton’s Bluebonnet Book Club.

“Many of our students commented that Mr. Bildner didn’t look like what they thought an author should look like,” said librarian Bethany Brant.

“Having Mr. Bildner here helped sow the seed that no matter what a person looks like, they can do big things like write books that win awards!”
