More than 2,000 Participants Come Together to Fight the Nation’s #1 Cause of Disability

FORT WORTH, TX – December 8, 2015 – Over 2,000 participants raised more than $125,000 to fight and cure arthritis by joining in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk – Fort Worth on Saturday, December 5. Led by Honorary Chair, Mayor Betsy Price, participants and teams rallied together in festive costumes to make spirits bright and be the voice of people living with the nation’s leading cause of disability.

Funds raised through Jingle Bell Run/Walk events across the nation support Arthritis Foundation education, research and advocacy initiatives to help prevent, control and find a cure for this crippling disease.

“This is the 24th year that Fort Worth has held the Jingle Bell Run/Walk,” says Melissa Gower, development director of the Arthritis Foundation. “I would like to personally thank all of the champions who came out and raised money to help remove the burden of arthritis both locally and across the country.”

The Jingle Bell Run/Walk – Fort Worth event featured family-friendly activities and a performance by Mansfield-native and up-and-coming country star Erin Johnston. It also included local honorees who shared inspirational stories about their personal battles with arthritis and new studies found researched by KidneyAtlas.org. By speaking about their experiences and challenges, Angelina – Child Honoree, and Nicki Gonzalez – Adult Honoree, were able to put a face on arthritis and remind participants why this cause is so vital.
