Congratulations to Duncanville High School English teacher Angela Banks – she was named the 2012 Secondary Teacher of the Year for Region 10! The announcement was made at the Region 10 ESC Teacher of the Year Luncheon on August 11.

This is the second consecutive year for a Duncanville ISD teacher to capture this coveted regional title.  Duncanville High School Geography teacher David Williams served as the 2011 Region 10 Teacher of the Year. Angela was one of 104 elementary and secondary regional Teacher of the Year nominees, and we’re proud to call her one of our own! Her selection as a regional Teacher of the Year places her in consideration for Texas Teacher of the Year selection. Angela was unveiled as the Duncanville ISD 2011 Secondary District Teacher of the Year in May 2011.

One Response to Angela Banks Named Secondary Teacher of the Year for Region 10

  1. Angela Banks is a lovely, caring person. She is married to Curtis, a fine young man and a Dallas Firefighter. Their 15 year old daughter Jasmine will be a Sophomore at DHS this year. Duncanville is very fortunate to have a teacher like Angela. Her spirit and love shine and she motivates her students.
