Duncanville’s Fourth of July starts off with the annual Duncanville Lions Club Fourth of July Parade.
The parade is scheduled to start at 9AM on Wednesday, July 4.
Prime viewing spots are near the intersection of Main Street and Wheatland Road. You can click here for a parade route map.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Champions on Parade” and the Grand Marshal will be the coach of the 2012 State Champion Pantherettes, Coach Cathy Self-Morgan.
That afternoon the City of Duncanville’s “Stars & Stripes Celebration” kicks off at 4PM in Armstrong Park, behind Duncanville City Hall, near the intersection of Main Street and Wheatland Road.
The City has scheduled waters slides, inflatables, face painting vendors, food vendors, and much more.

Back by popular demand is the Professor D Band
at 7:30PM at the Poe-Hobden Amphitheater in Armstrong Park.
Professor D is truly the most electric and hottest party/dance/variety band in the marketplace right now. Led by two incredible and charismatic lead vocalists PLUS the V-Posse Horns, this is not just a cover band… it’s a SHOW! An exhilirating, personality-filled, audience-participation-heavy, in-your-face, non-stop SHOW! This group built their early reputation on horn-heavy disco and R&B but then – over the last 10 years – added nearly everything to their repertoire from rock, current Top 40 and ’80s favorites to contemporary jazz, standards, motown, and 60s.
The fireworks show will be start at dusk. There will be several street closures during the fireworks show. Click here for a map of the closures.
Another event going on that evening will be a street party and fireworks watching event at Ben Franklin Apothecary at 302 N. Main Street.
The popular band Shades of Gray will be playing “the music you grew up with, but never really outgrew”, or just good old rock & roll, from 7PM to 9PM.
