The suits, which have all been consolidated into one case that is set for trial for October 22, 2012, charge that the way Texas distributes funding to school districts is inadequate and inequitable. Duncanville ISD is among more than 80 Texas districts that joined the largest of the four suits.
The court of the consolidated case (Texas Taxpayer and Student Fairness Coalition v. Robert Scott) has issued an order requiring the Texas Education Agency to provide student-level performance data records regarding all public school students in Texas. Duncanville ISD parents are encouraged to read the official FERPA public notice regarding this order.
