The Dallas Baptist Lady Patriots recorded many firsts during their historic season in 2011. Now, they are receiving the awards that go along with being the #15 ranked team in the NCAA.

Freshman Lea Sedwick has been named to the 2011 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Women’s Division II All-America Third Team. The midfielder from Kennedale, Texas, is the only freshman in the country to be named All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. She merited the award with 13 goals and 29 points on the season, including three game-winning goals and three assists for a team that finished their season in the NCAA Round of 16 with a 16-6-1 record.

Six Lady Patriots were also named to the NSCAA All-Region Teams. Sedwick and Andrea Hutchins were both named to the All-Region First Team as the Lady Patriots, alongside Abilene Christian, garnered more spots on the team than any other regional opponent. They were joined by Baylie HillBrittany LayneKerry Edwards, and Kourtney Edwards – all who were placed on either the second or third All-Region Team.
